Former Kellogg & INSEAD Dean Dr Dipak C. Jain named Director of Sasin Thailand

Dr Jain succeeds Professor Toemsakdi Krishnamra, who founded Sasin and has led the institution for the past 32 years.

Well known for making Kellogg School of Management as Worlds No 1 MBA School, most recently, Dr Jain was The INSEAD Chaired Professor of Marketing, and served as Dean of INSEAD, based in Fontainebleau, France, from 2011-2013. Earlier, was the Dean of the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University from 2001-2009, where he had been a faculty member since 1986.

Dr Jains meteoric rise as a global management educator had humble beginning in Tezpur , Assam, where he spent his early childhood. He earned his bachelors degree in mathematics and statistics (1976) and his masters degree in mathematical statistics (1978) from Gauhati University, where he taught for five years before obtaining a PhD in 1987 from the University of Texas (Dallas). Dr Jain has had a long association with Sasin. He has been a visiting professor of marketing at Sasin since 1989. Im honored and privileged to follow in the footsteps of Professor Krishnamra, who has been a mentor to me for 25 years, Dr Jain said. With additional programs at our new Phuket campus, we can ensure that Sasin continues to be a pioneer in management education and one of the leading business schools in the ASEAN region. Professor Jain is uniquely qualified to lead Sasin in our fourth decade, Professor Krishnamra said. I know that he is a gifted educator and an experienced administrator who will serve Sasin well, he added. Professor Krishnamra will serve as a member of the Sasin Executive Council.

Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University is located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. In 1982, the founders of Sasin collaborated with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

In January 2010, SASIN became Thailands first business school to be internationally accredited by the AACSB. In December 2010, European Foundation for Management Development granted its accreditation EQUIS to Sasin, thus putting it into an elite list of B-schools that have earned both these top accreditations.
