While sharing details with MBAUniverse.com FMS said this year the batch size has seen an increase of 20 per cent from last year.
The new students were addressed by the Dean and the Faculty of the mba institute, which was followed by a brief introduction of the new students. However, unlike last year, no famous personality visited the campus.
An FMS New Delhi spokesperson told MBAUniverse.com that due to last minute developments, the institute was not visited by any dignitary this time. Earlier, APJ Abdul Kalam had visited the campus and interacted with the students of batch 2010.
In view of recession, FMS New Delhi has planned guest lectures on a wide variety of subjects and topics for the freshers. These lectures will be conducted until the summer placement process starts for the new batch. Some of the topics that have been planned are Marketing, Finance, Consulting, IT and Operations. The lecturers will be from the corporate as well as academic backgrounds, the spokesperson said while pointing that no change has been carried out in the fee structure for the MBA program. The course fee remains the same at 10,000 per annum.
The spokesperson told MBAUniverse.com that many informal events have also been organized for the fresh batch of students who have joined the institutes MBA program this year. For the students we have planned interactive games and quizzes which are being handled by the senior batch of students, he informed.
FMS New Delhi started the full time MBA program for graduates with approval of All India Board of Management (AIBM) and the University Grants Commission in 1967. The MBA institute increased the intake of students for the MBA program form 60 to 90 and started a new section at the SP Jain Center (SPJMARC), South Campus in the year 1991.
