The sixth National Competition for Management Students (NCMS) 2009, organized by AIMA, will be held in September 2009. This years selected theme of NCMS, Innovate, Restructure, Reorganize: Challenges for India Inc, is significant enough for the present situation. The competition has a two-tier structure where the teams will first compete in the regional rounds before taking part in the final round. The regional rounds will take place in Bangalore and Delhi on September 2 and 3, 2009; Mumbai and Kolkata will take the rounds on September 4 and 5, 2009. The grand finale will take place in New Delhi on September 12, 2009.
NCMS is a unique management championship started in 2003. It is a platform for the students of MBA institutes to exhibit their forte and skills in knowledge, creativity, experience and professionalism and prove themselves as Leaders of Tomorrow.
The AIMA has said that there will be no limit to the number of teams and that the MBA institutes can nominate as many teams as they wish. In order to participate in NCMS, a two-member team should be formed where the members can either be of one or two different MBA institutes. For selection, AIMA has asked the teams to submit a written presentation of 2000 to 2500 words after which oral presentations would be taken at different regional centres. Two teams from each region will be selected to make the final presentation at the Grand Finale to be held at New Delhi, AIMA said.
Winning teams will get cash prizes and trophies along with membership of AIMA for one year. The Best Budding Manager will get an opportunity to visit Thailand as part of the industrial visit subject to the institutions support towards international travel and nominal administrative fee. Not only this, they will also have the privilege of making a presentation at the Special Session, Connecting Across Generations at the flagship event of AIMA-36th National Management Convention to be held on September 18 and 19, 2009 at The Taj Coromandel, Chennai.
This year the NCMS will focus on ways an organization can build a flexible culture ready to respond to the evolving market. It also deals with greater value creation and developing internal capabilities and managing the organization in the lines of the transformation.
