IMI Director CS Venkata Ratnam tells freshers the economy will be fully recovered by the time they graduate
The International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi commenced the study session for the next batch of MBA programme students at its campus on June 23. The institute also hosted a two-day inauguration event for the freshers on June 21 and June 22, 2009 where the institutes distinguished alumni interacted with the students.
In his inaugural address to the fresh batch of students joining IMI Delhi, CS Venkata Ratnam, IMI Director focussed on ways to deal with the downturn and said, Managing people during slowdown is a tough job, but its very much possible if done with a proper strategy in place. He emphasised that recovery of the economy is only possible with continuous learning and said, The best thing for you is that by the time you will be graduating, the economy will be fully recovered.
While speaking to MBAUniverse.com, Amrish Sharma from IMI Delhi said, The IMI Delhi is happy to start yet another session with a total of 180 students in its PGDM and PGDMHR MBA programmes. Before commencing the orientation for this years MBA programme students, the IMI conducted Remedial Classes from June 15. IMI Delhi conducts such classes each year for the new students who come to the institute with a diverse background. These classes help the students understand the basics of subjects like economics, finance, accounting, maths, before starting the actual study session.
Sharing commencement details with MBAUniverse.com, Sharma said, IMI specially invites distinguished alumni of CEO/VP level to interact with the new students each year. This years induction programme included a dance programme by a professional troop. Distinguished members of the IMI alumni interacted with the students on both the days of the inauguration ceremony and shed light on first hand experiences of the challenging corporate world. According to the IMI, this years fee for the two-year MBA programme is Rs 8.91 lakh (excluding hostel fee).
