Dr KS Srinivasa Rao takes over as Director of ITM Bangalore

Dr KS Srinivasa Rao, who has had more than two decades of experience in management education at several Buisness schools, has taken over as the Director of Institute for Technology and Management (ITM), Bangalore on May 11, 2009.

ITM Mumbai, founded in 1991 by Dr. P V Ramana, the founding Chairman of the institute launched its second campus in 1992 in Bangalore. Today it has four campuses in total.
The main program of ITM Bangalore is the All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE) approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). It is taught in all the four campuses. This two year course specialises in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology.

Dr KS Srinivasa Rao started his career in 1985 as a lecturer on part time basis in Bhartiya Vidya Kendra Degree College in Vishakhapatnam till 1990. He has also worked as a Research Analyst in New Delhis Operations Research Group in the same year. He then worked as an Assistant Professor in College of Management Studies, GITAM in Vishakhapatnam from 1992 to 1999. After that he went to Ahmedabad as an Assistant Professor in Nirma Institute of Management where he also took the responsibility of the PGP Chairman from 1999 to 2003. He was an Associate professor in T.A Pai Management Institute Manipal for a year. After that he worked as Professor and Director at KLS Institute of Management Education and Research, Belgaum for another year. He joined Alliance Business School in Bangalore in 2006 and worked as Professor in Management and Associate Dean of PGP, Research and Alliance Corporate Education till May 6, 2009, before he took over as the Director in ITM, Bangalore.

As the Director, Dr Rao aspires to maintain the values of ITM. When asked about his focus at ITM Banagalore, he said: I will be working on revision of the curriculum as per the Industry requirements. I would ensure that the institute prepares the students to meet the immediate Industry expectations by introducing courses like Industry Analytics, Soft Skills Training etc. He added, I will also encourage the Faculty in Research and Publications and also support them in Management Development Programs and Consultancy Development.
