Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA) annual brand management festival, MICANVAS, recently launched its international event Colloquium, which will be held at the MICA campus in Ahmedabad from November 06, 2009. For the first time, international students will be taken for a week-long programme that will help them experience real India.
Colloquium, introduced in 2007, provides a platform for some of the best minds to compete with their counterparts from across India and the globe. The event has always been of interest, but this time there is an added attraction for the international participants.
In order to take the event to a different level, the MICA has offered its international participants to experience real India in the course of a week-long immersion programme. The institute has also promised impressive prize money of USD 2,000 and USD 1,000 for the winners and runners-up of the event.
MICAs Director, Professor Atul Tandan, while commending the new initiative said, India is fast emerging as a global economic powerhouse. The week-long immersion program will help the international students experience Indias diverse culture, as well as study some of its best business practices. The programme will not only help the international participants get familiar with Indian culture, but also help them understand Indias corporate scenario and consumers psyche first-hand, he added.
Highlighting the global concern about sustainable development, this year, the Colloquium has been based on eco-labelling, which is a method to spread awareness about green products. In keeping with its theme, The Market Renaissance: Harnessing the Winds of Change, the event will try and address one of the biggest issues currently sweeping the world the green consumerism movement.
In just two years time the event has played host to numerous international students from partnering institutes in countries such as Australia, France, Peru, Singapore, the UK and the USA. It also witnessed unmatched participation from Indian institutes such as ISB, IIMs, XLRI, FMS and MDI, along with big brands such as ICICI Bank, Big FM and Mudra, to name a few.
