Last year, the company got very good demand from rural areas and to push our sales, we will recruit more rural dealerships sales executives (RDSEs), added Mr. Maitra. The company currently has strength of 2,500 RDSEs.

Maruti plans to spend Rs 1,800 crore in the current fiscal. This is part of the Rs 9,000 crore investment spread over 2007-2011 the company announced earlier.
