MDI has so far imparted management training to above 550 armed services officers who are now working in various business establishments and companies.
Says MDI, We were the pioneer in starting management programs for the armed forces officers. The trend later on spread over to other management institutes including IIMs. However, due to general slowdown in economy, the number of officers undergoing training has considerably receded.
At present, only MDI and IIM, Kolkata are running the management course for the defense officers. While 50 officers are on roll in MDI, in IIM C 26 armed services officers are undergoing training.

A six-month Management program with 50 commissioned officers of Army, Navy, and Air Force started in Gurgaon based Management Development Institute (MDI) on April 13, 2009. This is 11th armed forces batch includes nine lady officers.
