It was set to enable the formation of a platform for exchange of ideas among enterprising individuals who are committed to the cause of bringing positive change. Some of other dignitaries on the occasion included Prof Deepak Barman, Dean, Faculty FMS; Prof H C Chaudhary, Coordinator, DRS I SAP (UGC) & Seminar Director; Prof S N Dhar, Chairman, UG Board of Studies, Department of Commerce, North Bengal University; Mr Manoj Sharma, Consultant, Social Service Arena, Dehradoon; Dr P V Rajeev, Faculty of Management Studies, BHU; Mr Mukesh Narayan, Jeevan Jyoti Institute for the Disabled, Akha Sarnath, Varanasi; and many others. In his address, Mr Arun Kumar, Vice President, Hindalco Industries Ltd, said, Social entrepreneurship is the process of bringing about social change on a major scale. Social entrepreneurs function as the agents of change, questioning the status quo, grabbing the new yet overlooked opportunities, and changing the world for the better. A social entrepreneur is able to convert a gap or an opportunity into a business venture with primary focus on social welfare rather than profits.
