FMS admission test 09 Detailed Analysis
By PT Education
The FMS, Delhi is perceived as a low profile, quiet, solid institute. This is reflected in the entrance test paper also. At the same time when the CAT and XAT papers are primarily designed to check the decision making capabilities of the management career aspirants under pressure, the FMS paper was designed to test the actual knowledge of the students across various Management Skills like Mathematics, English Language, Data Interpretation and Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
FMS does not believe in giving surprises to the students as this was the continuous seventh year when the FMS had total 175 questions, the section wise structure of the test was also not changed from the past few years. Also there was no experimenting done with the total no. of marks and negative marking compared to the last several years.
Comparing with the other management entrance test it had the maximum number of questions i.e., 175 compared to the CAT(90), XAT (104), IIFT(150), JMET(120), to be solved in less time i.e. 120 minutes compared to the CAT (150 min.) and JMET (180 min).
By comparing on the basis of difficulty level of the questions asked the FMS entrance test paper 2009 could be termed as difficult on account of its having questions from Statistics, Physics and Higher Maths in Maths & DI section, Long Passages in RC section, pretty tough wording of the paper and innovative EU questions.
