According to the information shared by Wg Cdr V S Bejoy (Retd), Director, CMS, AIMA, A total of 360 management institutes are participating in MAT this time. Every year, lakhs of students avail of this test. The test is conducted 4 times in a year in the months of February, May, September and December.
Some of the participating B-schools are Apeejay Institute of Management, Greater Noida; Asia Pacific Institute of Management, Delhi; Delhi Business School, New Delhi; Graduate School of Business and Administration, Greater Noida; IILM Institute of Higher Education, Gurgaon and Delhi; Rai Business School, New Delhi IBMR International Business School, Bangalore and KIIT School of Management, Pune.
The MAT test paper in based on multiple-choice answers and designed to evaluate a students general aptitudes on five areas: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and awareness of Indian and Global Environment.
The objective of MAT is to assess the potential of a candidate to pursue a management programme. Towards that end, we test the verbal ability, numerical ability and logical thinking of candidates, shared Cdr Bejoy.
The duration of the test is typically 150 minutes. There are total 200 questions fielded in MAT exam, where each question has four options. Each question in MAT caries one marks and there will be negative marking for wrong answers.
The last date for the sale of the MAT bulletin was January 10, 2009 and the last date for submitting the form is January 14, 2009.
