MDI to hold convention Delphique 08 on Emerging Business Horizons

The theme for Delphique 08 is Emerging Business Horizons: Opportunities for Indian companies. MDI has invited eminent business leaders to address the convention.

Delphique 08 will be inaugurated by Ms. Usha Thorat, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI).Speakers for the HR panel include Mr. Yashwant Mahadik, Vice President Human Resources Johnson & Johnson Medical and Mr. Sunit Sinha, Senior Consultant Mercer. On the finance panel Ms. Chanda Kochar, CFO, ICICI Bank and Mr. Vidhu Shekhar, Vice President, National Stock Exchange are expected to address the gathering. For the operations and strategy panel, Mr. Atul Dhawan, Partner, Deloitte Touch and Tohmatsu will address the convention.

Given the unprecedented upheavals that the global economy is experiencing, the implications and opportunities for the Indian Businesses in such a scenario have become especially relevant. The central idea behind keeping the theme was to invoke thought provoking ideas within the student community about the changing dynamics of various industrial sectors given the backdrop of the crashing markets the world over, informs MDI.

Delphique 08 will look to focus on the six basic management areas, i.e. Finance, Operations, Strategy, Human Resources, Information Management and Marketing. Each of these areas will be represented by a panel which in turn will analyse an issue that it sees as relevant to its area of management. The panels in turn will be headed by knowledge partners who will basically provide the specific topic towards which the resource should be focussed within the specified aspect of management.
Knowledge partners for Delphique 08 are some of the biggest names in their area of specialization. For the Marketing panel, knowledge partner is Procter & Gamble, for the Information management panel it is Computer Sciences Cooperation, for the Human Resources panel it is Mercer, while for the Finance panel it is Indian Association of Investment Professionals and finally Deloitte is the knowledge partner for both the strategy and the operations panel.
