Sharing the information with MBAUniverse.com, XLRI said, XAT 2009 would be conducted on the first Sunday of January, that is, January 4, 2009. The application procedure begins on September 1, 2008 and ends on November 30, 2008.
XLRI said that XAT aims at testing a candidate on skills such as Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
XAT 2008 had three sections Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA) and Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making Ability (AR). It also had an essay topic which aspirants had to attempt.
Cautioning aspirants about the exam pattern, XLRI says, Past pattern in no way means that this years pattern will be on the same lines. The institute can make any modifications in the pattern of the paper which it may deem necessary for better screening of the aspirants.
XLRI has been conducting its all-India admission tests for more than 50 years. Using this experience and expertise it has extended this test to other Management Institutes. Last year there were 43 Management Institutes included XLRI that select students using XAT 2008. Apart from XLRI, XAT score are also used by many other B-Schools like Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar, (XIMB), Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) and Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Goa.
Founded in 1949, one of Indias premier management institutes, XLRI is running two-year full time Management Programmes in Personal Management and Industrial Relation Programme; General Management Programme; Executive PG Programme; Fellow Programme in Management.
