AIMA signs MOU with IGNOU to offer e-learning and doctoral programmes

The MoU between AIMA and IGNOU to offer joint E-learning and Doctoral programmes was signed on August 2, 2008 in New Delhi.

On the occasion, Prof VN Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU and Chairman of Distance Education Council of India; Prof Parvin Sinclair, Pro Vice Chancellor, IGNOU; Mr Kewal Handa, President, AIMA; Mr SK Swamy, Sr Vice President, AIMA, Ms Rekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA, Prof DN Rao, Director, Centre for Management Education, AIMA and Mr K Laxman, Registrar, IGNOU were present.

While sharing the reason behind this MoU, Prof Pillai said, The managerial talent in industry is lacking. There is a need to solve this problem for both academia and industry. Thats why this MoU is signed to create expertise to meet industry needs.
We see AIMA as a largest body for management education. We are happy to work with AIMA and look forward to growth for IGNOU and AIMA, added Prof Pillai.

When MBAUniverse.com asked about the highlights of the programmes which will be jointly offered by AIMA and IGNOU, said, Mr Handa, We have not finalized the specific programmes as they are under process. It will take sometime to announce the programmes. The programmes will be taught by faculties of AIMA and IGNOU.

The All India Management Association (AIMA) was created as an apex body of professional management with active support of the Government of India and Industry in 1957.

Indira Gandhi National Open University provides access to sustainable and learner-centric quality education, skill up gradation and training to all by using innovative technologies and methodologies and ensuring convergence of existing systems for massive human resource required for promoting integrated national development and global understanding.
