Prof CK Prahalad to address AIMA-BIMTECH summit on Business Responsibility

The summit will be held on July 18-19, 2008 in New Delhi with the theme of Death of CSR and Birth of Responsible Business. Leading management thinker Dr CK Prahlad will be the Keynote Speaker at the summit. Mr Arun Maira, Chairman, Boston Consulting Group is the Summit Director.

Some of the other high profile speakers at the summit include Ms Anu Aga, Chairperson, Thermax; Mr Kishore Chaukar, Managing Director, Tata Industries; Mr Anand Nayak, Executive VP, Corporate HR ITC Ltd and Prof PD Jose, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Sharing the highlights of the summit, Dr H Chaurvedi, Director, BIMTECH said, The summit will have the rich discussion on the relevant topics. The participants will have the opportunities to learn from renowned business leaders like Dr Prahalad, Mr Maira and others.

Mr Kamal Singh, Director, Center for Management Development (AIMA-CMD) sharing the objective of the summit said, The objective of the summit is to address broader issues than the traditional view of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The summit is organized for business community to rethink their responsibilities towards society and built appropriate link between the community and stakeholders.

The day-one of the summit will have three sessions and day-two will have one session and some special addresses.

The first session will be on the topic of Redefining Responsible Business. The session will be chaired by Mr Bharat Wakhlu, Resident Director, Tata Group, Delhi where the speakers are Ms Soumitra Ghosh, President, CSO Partners; Mr Anurag Goel, Secretary, Ministry of Company Affairs; Ms Sunita Narayan, Director, Centre for Science & Environment and Mr K Ranganath, CMD, Kundremukh Iron.

The second session will have the discussion on Listening to Voices of Citizens. Dr AK Balyan, Director (HR), ONGC will be chaired the session. The speakers of this session are Mr AK Ghose, President (CSR), Jubilant Organsys; Ms Amita Joseph, Director, Business & Community Foundation and Mr Satish Magar, MD, Magarpatta City.

The third session will have the panel discussion on the topic - Does the investment Community Care?. This session will be moderated by Mr Chintamani Rao, CEO, Times Now and the panelists will be Mr Sunil Sinha, Head, CRISIL; Mr Ashok Wadhwa, Partner & CEO, Ambit Corporate Finance and Mr Kishore Chaukar, MD, Tata Industries.

The fourth session on July 19, 2008 will be on Sowing the seeds in B-schools which will be moderated by Mr Arun Maira. The panellists of this session are Dr H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH; Mr Anand Nayak, Executive VP, Corporate HR ITC Ltd; Prof PD Jose, IIM Bangalore; Dr CS Venkataratnam, Director, International Management Institute, New Delhi and Dr S Neelamegham, President, NIILM Centre for Management Studies, New Delhi.

The valedictory session on Towards a new paradigm of Corporate Governance will be hold by Ms Anu Aga, Chairperson, Thermax Ltd; Mr Maira and Mr Kamal Singh, Director, AIMA-Centre for Management Development.
There will be also a special session on Spiritual Guidance, led by Swami Sukhbodhanand.
