V.B.Hemanth of FMS Delhi wins Cognizants B-school summer project contest

V B Hemant of Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, was adjudged the winner of the B-school summer project competition held as part of Bhive, an innovative event organized by IT and BPO major Cognizant on May 30 for its B-school summer interns.

According to information shared by Cognizant with MBAUniverse.com,Hemanths project on Strategy for identifying functional areas in Logisticsto be offered as SaaS won the top honor from a total of 50 entries, eight of which made it to the final round.
The finalists in this years edition of Bhive included interns from some of the most prestigious B-Schools in India, such as Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Indian Institute of Management (Indore), Management Development Institute (MDI), Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). The interns working at various locations of Cognizant were invited to Cognizant Chennai, where the eight finalists battled it out for the title of the Best Summer Project.

The panel of judges consisted of Cognizant Senior Management. The first runner-up was Aparna Joshi of FMS (Project title: Healthcare Insurance Payor Industry Analysis to Develop the Business and Process Models and identify the scope of Analytics) and the second runner-up was Saurabh Bagrodia of XLRI (Project title: Strategy for Cognizants BFS Foray into Indian Market). The winners took away prizes such as a Video I-pod, Home Theater and DVD Player.

As one of the leading recruiters from B-schools, Cognizant has been organizing Bhive for the past several years to provide these interns with an opportunity to interact with Cognizants senior management and network with their seniors who are currently working with Cognizant. Bhive is Cognizants way of celebrating the summer stint of B-school interns in the company, says the company.
