Both education system and organizations need to play their role towards this move. According to Mr Premji, We need to encourage innovation right from primary education.
Talking about some of the major attributes of an entrepreneur, he said, Instinct is one of the most important factors to become an entrepreneur. It plays 70% role in entrepreneurship. But with instinct they must also understand the reality of business.
Another major aspect that an entrepreneur needs to learn from is failure because success comes with failure. Mr Premji said, Teach people to success but at the same time in terms of generating ideas teach people failure. It is impossible to generate few good ideas without lot of bad ideas.
In terms of management education, there is a need for more work in the area of sales processes. According to him, Sales process in the services process is the vacuum in most of the management institute including worlds best in the world. Further added, We lacks understanding of sales process of taking an idea or product or service to area of market which is fundamental to run a business successfully.
Mr Premji was speaking while inaugurated the S.P Kapur Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at MDI.
