WIPRO Chairman Azim Premji to launch incubation centre for entrepreneurship at MDI

Mr. Azim Premji, Chairman, WIPRO will lay the foundation stone ofthe S.P Kapur Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on February 19. The governing board members of the centre will include industry heavy-weights like Mr. Azim Premji, Mr. Devinder Brar, Mr. Analjit Singh, Mr. Rajiv Gupta (Carlyle), Mr. H.K.Mittal (Deptt. of Science & Technology), Mr. Sarkar (MSME), Mr. S. Ghosh (NRDC), Dr. Surinder Kapur and Dr. Sujit Basu, Director, MDI.

The center will be established in association with Sona Group, a leading automobile components manufacturer.The center is named after the father of Sona Groups Chairman Dr. Surinder Kapur.

According to information shared by MDI with MBAUnivese.com, The center will identify the prospective innovators and entrepreneurs and they will be incubated and trained to develop their business proposition into viable businesses.

Dr. Surinder Kapur, Chairman, the Sona Group said, I hope that the setting up of S. P. Kapur Mentoring and Incubation Centre for Innovation will help promote the creation of new enterprises and start-up enterprises find access to financial resources and establish strategic and international partnerships.

The incubation centre will nurture the growth of entrepreneurs by providing them financial support and offer mentoring and other services like strategic guidance, access to investors and a ready-made network of contacts. The help will also be extended in building the management team, providing specialized training, affordable incubation space, and other professional services at reduced costs, says MDI.

The centre will organize research programmes in collaboration with Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprises, Department of Science & Technology, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for value creation and to help the business to get to the next level.
