BML MUNJAL Award for excellence in learning and development conferred to MINDTREE and NHPC

Award in PSU category was conferred to National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) and in private sector to Mindtree Consulting.
Chief Guest of the ceremony, Smt. Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister presented the awards to the winners. Addressing the gathering, Smt. Dixit said, We do not lack in talent, there is a need to channelize talent and a need to invoke a sense of pride in ourselves across the hierachies. Learning and Development today is an integral part of business and I congratulate Hero Mindmine Institute to have constituted BML Munjal awards to recognize companies and talent.

Highlighting the institution of the award, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd said, BML Munjal awards were conceived three years ago to place a spotlight on what India sees as a competitive advantage its people. The idea was to lay focus and emphasis on Learning and Development and recognize companies who focus on training and considers it as a source of building business strategies.

After a rigorous two layer screening and selection process, the winners were selected by an independent jury comprising of some of Indias most respected names in the corporate sector including Mr. Arun Maira, Chairman, Boston Consulting Group, Ms. Shobhna Bhartia, Vice Chairperson, The Hindustan Times Group, Mr. S.K. Roongta, Chairman SAIL, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd, Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, Prof. IIT Delhi. The jury was chaired by Mr. Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC and Mr. Ajay Shriram, Chairman, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd.

BML Munjal awards for Excellence in Learning and Development were instituted to acknowledge and recognize companies who have invested in people, and benefited from it. The companies awardedhave consistently used training, learning and development as a significant means to compete in changing business environments.
