Entrepreneurship Week awards its Champions

The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony in the presence of note entrepreneur Ms Kiran Mazumdar Shaw.

The seven E Week Champions 2008 were Bengal College of Engineering and Technology, Durgapur; IPS Academy, Indore; Mount Carmel College, Bangalore; NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata; PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore; Sree Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore and St. Josephs College of Arts & Science, Bangalore.

NEN also introduced a new category of winners: Champion Runners Up. Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai; JJ College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy; M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore; MKSSSs Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management for Women, Pune; Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad; Pailan School of International Studies, Kolkata and Sir MVIT Engineering College, Bangalore were declared the seven Champion Runners Up.

On the Honor Roll were Birla Institute of Management Technology, Delhi; Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Jaipur; Coimbatore Institute of Management & Technology, Coimbatore; Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur; Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management, Kolkata; IFIM Business School, Bangalore, IIAS Group of Institutions, Kolkata; IISWBM, Kolkata; Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata; International Group, Kolkata; International Institute for Business & Media, Bangalore; International School of Business & Research, Bangalore; Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur; M E S Degree College Of Arts, Commerce & Science, Bangalore; NIPS School of Management, Kolkata; SSN College of Engineering, Chennai; St. Xaviers College , Kolkata; Stella Maris College, Chennai and Velammal Engineering College, Chennai.

According to NEN, during the E week more than 2500 entrepreneurship events and activities were hosted demonstrating extraordinary entrepreneurial energy amongst students from across the country. Over 50,000 people took the E Week India 2008 nation-wide Pledge to support entrepreneurship in India. Spread across 30 cities and towns in India, the second E Week India had participation from about 2,00,000 across the country, doubling that of last year.

NEN co-hosted E Week 2008 with over 270 member colleges from across the country along with entrepreneur support associations such as TiE, IVCA, IAN, Proto.in and Dare. E Week 2008 was supported by corporate sponsors including HSBC, Himalaya and Symphony Services. MBAUniverse.com was the Official Management Portal of E Week (www.eweekindia.org ).
