IIM-A PGPX Placements 08: Over 40 top co. to hire experienced campaigners

The placement season began on January 7 and will go until end of February. PGPX follows rolling placements process, as all jobs offered are lateral in nature and companies invite candidates to their headquarters for final discussions, informs IIM-A. These lateral appointments are at middle and senior management roles in Indian and foreign companies.

Says IIM-A, Building over the runaway success of the pioneering classs placement record, the second class is witnessing an overwhelming response to recruit from companies this year. Most recruiters from last year have returned and several new companies have already confirmed dates for recruiting from PGPX class.

Over 40 companies have confirmed dates or already interviewed candidates. Companies are from Consulting, BFSI, IT, Consumer goods, Multi-business (Conglomerates), Real estate, Operations, Infra structure space. This year IIM-A expect to see a 20% increase in the number of participating companies, over last year. Over 60 candidates have already been shortlisted by the various companies for next round of interviews.

IIM-A says that some of the recruiters that will participate in placements this year: McKinsey, Microsoft, GE, Shell, Booz Allen Hamilton, Arthur DLittle, ADA Group, ITC, RPG, Yes Bank, Infosys and Tech Mahindra.
Interestingly, not all PGPX students are following the beaten path. Some students have expressed desire to work in small and medium sized companies and are looking at companies like Electrotherm (Ahmedabad based), Arshiya International who would be participating in placements this year. At least two students are likely to drop out of placements and start up their own companies.

PGPX, a full time one year residential MBA level programme is drawing experienced people with around 9-10 years of experience. The PGPX participant experience level range from 7 years to 17 years. Last years salary range has been in the band 15 Lakhs to 60 Lakhs for domestic placements.
