Proper question selection and accuracy is key: Career Launcher on XAT 2008

While ruling out any sea-change in this years paper, Career Launcher recommends proper question selection and accuracy.

Says Career Launcher, What we have noticed over the past two years is that, in XAT its only the packaging that changes; the paper inherently remains the same. This years paper, too, should not be an exception.

When asked what are the key things students should keep in mind while attempting the exam, Career Launcher said, This is an equally important exam, so maintain the same focus level as when you attempted CAT. Do remember, that as compared to CAT, since XAT is easier, the emphasis is more on selection of right questions.

Sharing more information on cut-offs, and section-wise approach to XAT 08, Career Launcher said, In XAT 2007, a score of 34-35 (out of 127) was enough to get a call for the next round. This meant that scoring 6-7 in Quantitative Aptitude and 11-12 in each of the other two sections, with an average of 40 minutes spent per section was enough. Since we do not expect a sea-change in the level of questions, proper question selection, coupled with a fair amount of accuracy should definitely see a student through.

XAT 2008 will be held on January 6. There are 43 institutes including Xaviers Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) who are selecting students from XAT 2008. XAT 2008 will be conducted in 31 cities.
