NMIMS holds its annual fest Paragana 07

The event witnessed the coming together of some of the leading names in the industry with students from all premier B-schools of the country.

The flagship event of Paragana 07 was the corporate seminar. A number of industry big-wigs like Mr. V. Vaidyanathan, Executive director, ICICI Bank, Ms. Shanti Ekambaram, Director, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Mr. Tony Yip, CEO, QAD Asia, Mr. Madhusudan Kela, Head of Reliance Mutual Fund, Mr. Philip Michell, Director and Country Head, ANZ India and many others spoke on the theme of India the Iceberg. They offered views and insights on India, its potential and the gap that needs to be filled to continue the India growth story.

The next couple of days mixed serious business with fun with a host of national level corporate and informal events. The paper writing event, Parrija, one of the oldest events of Paragana, was held in many verticals such as Marketing, Finance and Human Resources and saw tremendous participation from B-school students across India, asdid the Business plan contest and Cognizant Prashnottari the business quiz conducted by quiz-master Avinash Mudaliar, where the winners received 2 return tickets to London from Jet Airways apart from cash prizes from Cognizant.

A number of online events like Finsure an insurance strategy event, Marksman, a series of marketing related games, Blogvertise, a blogging competition and Snapshots, a photography competition saw participation of over 500 students across B-schools.

Pratyancha, a unique corporate simulation game was designed by the students of NMIMS University solely for the corporates associated with the Institute and the winning team from Lehmann Brothers took away Digital Cameras and i-pods as prices. Parakram was arguably the most awaited event of Paragana with participants being gruelled for an entire day through various simulations on all aspects of business. The winning team walked away with Rs. 50,000.

Various informal events such as Brand Housie , Mad-Ads, and Gas-o-meter also saw tremendous participation. Big FMs Antakshari hosted by the Rj Lavanya was a crowd favourite. Paragana 07 concluded with a magical evening by the Art of Living with Anantarang, an evening of Satsang with Vikram Hazra.
