The Entrepreneurial Confidence Index aims to analyze the socio-economic environment in India affecting the development, sustainability and growth of the entrepreneurial climate in the country. The study is being jointly conducted by TiE and KPMG. The initial insights into the study were shared by Pradeep Udhas, Head of Markets & Global Partner in-charge Sourcing Advisory, KPMG and Gita Dang, TiE Delhi at the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit (TES) 2007 in New Delhi today.
As a booming economy, Indias success story is driven by entrepreneurs and mega conglomerates alike. Entrepreneurial Confidence Index Study aims at providing an in depth analysis of the eco-system which supports entrepreneurial success. The study is designed to develop the Indian Entrepreneurial Confidence Index, so as to create awareness on issues which are relevant to entrepreneurs. It does so by measuring the entrepreneurs perception of the current status of key factors for entrepreneurship development in individual states.
The report will include the perspectives of over 300+ entrepreneurs to ascertain their confidence in their respective ecosystems.
Entrepreneurial Confidence Index Study focuses on the opportunities that India offers to entrepreneurs (both small and large) and highlights the challenges, which entrepreneurial ventures are facing across their lifecycle, in the manufacturing and services sectors. To ensure that the assessment arrived at were not skewed; the research, conducted by AC Neilson, encompassed across a number of states in India and evaluated them on parameters like Infrastructure, Manpower Issues, Governance and Regulatory Issues amongst others.
Speaking at the release of the findings, Pradeep Udhas, Head of Markets & Global Partner in-charge Sourcing Advisory, KPMG said, The growth story of India is real and sustainable and the initial insights of the Entrepreneurial Confidence Index study show that entrepreneurs will play a big role in the countrys growth. The study also highlights certain issues associated with entrepreneurship in India, which if addressed appropriately can help propel Indias growth forward.
