To face this issue Director, International Management Institute (IMI), Dr C S Venkata Ratnam proposed the need to re-engineer its educational institutions and strengthen their infrastructure for effective education and skills development system.
Addressing at CII 2nd Employment Summit on Employment Generation and Skills Development on November 22, Dr C S Venkata Ratnam, said, Basic education for skill training (BEST) is the major need today. We need to map the skills gap for which both private and public sector need to work together in public private partnership. He said, We need to identify training needs and training providers.
Emphasizing on innovative solutions for skills development, he said, We need to adopt innovative solution for education and skill delivery system.
To make the person internationally acceptable there is need of global certification. He said, We need to have global certification in most of the emerging areas only people can work both in India and abroad.
He also urged all the stakeholders such as the states, the trade unions, local bodies and individuals to play their role responsibly.
