The contest was keenly fought with teams from leading management institute like IIM-A, IIM-C, XLRI participating. The Awards consisted of cash prizes and a special memento.
Tarun Arora of FMS-Delhi won the Gold Award with a cash prize of Rs 25,000. IMT Ghaziabads Deepak Kapoor and Rahul Saini shared the Silver Award, winning cash prize of Rs 15,000 each. IIM-As Kritisundar Paul won the Bronze award and cash prize of Rs.10,000.
According to Mr. Pradeep Kashyap, the Chairman of the Awards Committee, There were 38 entries from leading Management Institutes including from IIM Ahmedabad, Kolkata, XLRI, XIM, NITIE etc. Out of the shortlisted 10 entries the winners were chosen.
The panel of judges consisted of Mr. Pradeep Kashyap of Mart, Mr. Harish Bijoor of Harish Bijoor Consult and Prof. Mithileshwar Jha of IIM, Bangalore.
The wining summer project entry by Tarun Arora was titled -- To Understand Rural Bihar Go To Market Study for Colgate Palmolive. Deepak Kapoor and Rahul Sainis project was on Implementation of Mera Sapna Meri Maruti: Ghar Ghar Mein Maruti - A special scheme for Panchayats. Kritisundar Pauls project was based on Rural Distribution: The Next Leap in Maricos Sales System.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R V Rajan, President of RMAAI said that the Association is very active in offering training courses in Rural Marketing at Management Institutes. RMAAI undertakes to conduct a full credit course on Rural Marketing with responsibility for course content, faculty management and evaluation of students. Already RMAAI has conducted course at MICA, Ahmedabad this year and will be conducting similar courses in S P Jain Institute and IIM Indore.

At a function held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, Prof. S Neelamegham, President, NIILM Centre for Management Studies gave away the Gold, Siver and Bronze Awards to winners of contest pertaining to Summer Projects in Rural Marketing.
