Career Launcher set to launch its B-school

The institute will be named Indus World School of Business (IWSB) and will be based in Greater Noida. IWSB will offer a Post Graduate Program in Business and a three-year Under Graduate Program in Management for academic session starting 2008. The institute will focus on entrepreneurship and providing career opportunities for its students. It has already tied up with twenty companies including Google and Naukri.com for placements.
Says R Satyanarayanan, Chairman and one of the founders of IWSB, We are sparing no effort to make the school truly world class.

IWSBs Academic Council, which is shaping the curricula for the Post Graduate Programme in Management, includes some eminent names in the field of management education, including Phil Anderson, Dean INSEAD Singapore, Ishwar Dayal, the founding Director of IIM Lucknow, Mirza Saiyadain, former faculty at IIM Ahmedabad, and many more.

IWSB has identified placements as a priority. We are not only targeting to place our students with the largest companies, but also with the fast growing companies, says R Sreenivasan, Director Career Advisory Services. IWSBs Centre for Career Services has already formally signed up with more than 20 companies who would participate in IWSBs placement. These include Google, AstraZeneca, CNBC-Network 18, naukri.com, Jobstreet.com, and many more. Sreenivasan is confident of having more than 50 companies in this list even before the PGP starts in July 2008.

Besides strong industry interface, the other areas of focus at IWSB are global exposure and entrepreneurial leadership. The school boasts of a US $ 1 million business incubation centre, informs Career Launcher. The incubator will help young entrepreneurs of the B- school to actualise their business plans. Career Launcher informed MBAUniverse.com that CAT and XAT takers are eligible for admissions to the PGP. IWSB will take into consideration not only the students percentile score in CAT/XAT, but also their educational background, work experience, if any, as well as accomplishments in non-academic areas.

When asked what kind of students was IWSB looking for, Somonnoy Ghosh, Director Academics, said, We will take good quality students who are open to diverse ideas and are willing to explore new approaches to learning.
Career Launcher was started in 1995 by its Chairman R Satyanarayanan as an MBA test-prep company. After successfully expanding nationally, Career Launcher also entered into mainstream education through its own K-12 school. In 2005, the first playschools Ananda and the first K-12 school - Indus World Schools were opened in Indore and Hyderabad.
