The one day workshop on Wealth Management: The Emerging Scenario was organized at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Bhikaiji Cama Place, New Delhi on November 3, 2007.
This event provided interaction with heads of private banks and wealth management firms. The guest of honor, Mr. Partick De Stampa, Chamber of Commerce, Pau, France and former partner Price Waterhouse Coopers, Pau, France inaugurated the event and Dr. K.C Chakrabarty, CMD, Punjab National bank, delivered the keynote address highlighting the contemporary investment avenues and their upcoming variants. Mr. Chakrabarty emphasized that the surging interest and demand in this field goes in hand with the increasing complexity of its body of knowledge and partial applications.
The workshop was structured into two technical sessions. The first technical sessions was chaired by Mr. Sanjay Kaul, IAS, Director and CEO, NCDEX Institute of Commodity Markets and Research. An eminent panel of speakers deliberated on issues such as managing client expectations, implications of capital market volatility, mutual fund, real estate investment and futures trading in commodities in one of the fastest growing wealth management market in the world. The participants representing the corporate sectorwere Mr. Rohit Sarin, Founder Partner, Client Associates, Mr. Rajesh Jain, Head Research, SMC Investment Solutions and Services, Mr. Lalit Khanna, MD, Escorts Mutual fund and Mr. Ankur Srivastav, MD, DTZ, India.

Mr. P.K Choudhary, Vice Chairman and group CEO, ICRA LTD, chaired the second technical session and set the ball rolling. Illuminating insights into such pertinent areas as Arrival of Pension Funds, art as an asset and a developmental force, portfolio diversification with structured products and the criteria for evolution of wealth managers were provided by the distinguished panel of speakers comprising Mr. Sanjay Sachdev, Head Shinsei Bank, Mr. Nivelli Tuli, Founder Chairman, Osians Connoisseurs of Art Pvt.
