Work experience essential for passport to international B-schools, says GMAT-prep expert Chad Troutwine

The average amount of work experience at the top US MBA programs ranges from 4 years for Stanford to 6 years for Wharton, said Mr Troutwine. Students with work experience of less than two years rarely get a chance to enter leading international B-schools. While reviewing the last years admission in international B-schools, Mr Troutwine commented, Since MBA admissions officers are reluctant to admit people who will be unattractive to potential employers, recent graduates are at a distinct disadvantage in the admissions process. Last year, only a few top B-schools admitted any applicant with less than two years full-time work experience.(See table below)
