Harvard Business Schools first executive program in India to focus on Building Global Enterprise

The program, titled Building a Global Enterprise in India, will be taught by senior HBS faculty including Prof Krishna G. Palepu and Prof Tarun Khanna in Hyderabad. The program is targetedat senior executives from India and the region. The course fee for this six day program is pegged at Rs 180,000.

This program was designed to address emerging challenges in the Indian business landscape as companies seek to manage and sustain growth in India, said Professor David Yoffie, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of Harvard Business School Executive Education programs.

According to HBS, the program is based on 10 years of extensive HBS research in India.The course curriculum will cover areas like Strategy Advantage, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Innovation.
This program is a distinct offering built on a decades worth of research conducted by HBS faculty in India and developed into tailored teaching materials, said Professor Krishna Palepu of HBS.

Program will use cases tailored to the specific needs of companies operating in India and incorporates examples from companies in the region that have addressed similar challenges facing Indian companies today.The program will also provide participants with the opportunity to meet and discuss business issues with a diverse and dynamic group of C-suite peers from India and around the world, says HBS.

Hyderabad International Convention Center will be the venue for this HBS program which will run from February 10-15, 2008.

Program faculty will include: Prof Thomas J. DeLong, Philip J. Stombert Professor of Management Practice; Prof Amy C. Edmondson, Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management;Prof Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor and Prof Krishna G. Palepu Ross Graham Walker Professor of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean for International Development.

HBS says that it has long considered India as a fundamental part of its global strategy. A decade ago, HBS began researching and developing cases in India with Indian-based companies. In 2005, HBS established the India Research Center (HBS IRC) in Mumbai to develop intellectual capital on the critical challenges facing the countrys business environment and key industries.
