Mr Praful Patel said, Corporate India now has a billion dollar thinking. Corus acquisition by Tata Steel shows the kind of potential Indian companies have. There is a renewed respect for India.
Talking extensively about the role and progress made by Indias aviation section, Mr Patel said, We have made good progress in last few years. The number of airports have increased from 50 to about 80 airports in last three years. Many new sector have been opened up. But a lot remains to be done.
Willem L J Brocker, Sr Global Advisor, PwC International, while delivering the convention keynote address, said, Indian companies today are at a similar stage where Japan was in 1980s. The companies like Cannon, Toyota, Honda that had global outlook and they benefited from this. Similarly Indian companies that adopt this mindset and go global will become global companies of future.
Mr BJ Panda said, The accountability for politicians is growing. Now politicians also need to perform as a corporate CEO. Urging Indian companies to move up the value chain, AIMA President Mr Subir Raha, said, We are very complacent with getting the low hanging fruits. We have achieved good success with body-shopping in IT. But we have not created a single Indian IT product company the likes of Microsoft.
