Stage set for AIMA-AAMOs National Management Convention in Kolkata

The convention will be held on 6-8 September 2007. Mr Sanjiv Goenka, Vice Chairman, RPG Enterprises is the Convention Chairman and Mr. B Muthuraman, MD, Tata Steel is the Convention Co- Chairman.
The NMC is being jointly organized by AIMA and the Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO), in collaboration with the Calcutta Management Association.

Elaborating on the convention theme, AIMA says, Focusing on a theme of national importance, the Annual Convention, which is the Flagship event of AIMA seeks to generate an invigorating debate and provide an international forum for the management community to discuss and recommend policy options in specific areas of management. AIMA expects the Convention to attract over 1000 managers from all levels in different sectors of business, industry and academics and students.

The Convention Keynote Address will be delivered by Willem Brocker, Global Managing Partner of PwC International. PwC India, which is the Partner Consultant for the Convention, will also present the Convention Design and explain how the Convention will roll out.

Amongst the highlights of the Convention will be the Chief Ministers Conclave where Chief ministers from several states like West Bengal and Bihar will discuss the Convention theme -- Managing New India. Talking about Chief Ministers Conclave AIMA says, Different states in India need to actively compete to attract both domestic and foreign investments. In this session, Chief Ministers would describe different policy measures that have been successfully adopted in their respective states to create an environment that is conducive to the development of managerial talent and that help companies compete effectively across the globe.
