On the occasion, eminent trade union leaders including Mr. Pabitro Chatterjee, President, American Express Employees Union and Mrs. Nisha Ghatkar, General Secretary of HSBC Employee Association Mumbai & President of HSBC Employee Association of India and Ms. Cecelia Viegas, Vice President of HSBC Employee Association of India highlighted the fact that without trade unions management would have a hard time managing large organizations. Their major focus was on employee relations between unions and management in the banking sector.
While sharing experiences and instances to validate their points of view, the speakers also reflected on the changing role of unions and the use of participatory models such as the one used in HSBC.
