This program aims to develop innovators and entrepreneurs for the communications industry. The first batch of this 15-month program will be inaugurated on August 15, 2007. The batch consists of 70 students who plan to develop self-sustaining businesses in the communications sector.
As a run-up to the launch of this program, Mr. Madhukar Kamath, MD and CEO, Mudra Communications, and chairman, Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education, and Mr. Sudhir Nanavati, Honorary Secretary of Gujarat Law Society (GLS), inaugurated the MICA-EDC City Center at GLS on August 2. Dr. Gautam Raj Jain, Senior Professor at MICA and head of MICA-EDC, Prof. Atul Tandan, director, MICA and Mr. Deepak Parikh, president, GLS, were also present on the occasion.
According to MICA, the MICA-EDC is a center of excellence supported by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to promote business initiatives in the area of communications management. MICA has received active support from GLS for establishing infrastructural facilities for this program. MICAs resources in terms of industry linkages and competent faculty members will ensure a high quality of education and training in entrepreneurship and communications.

Ahmedabad-based Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA) has set up an Entrepreneurship Development Center (MICA-EDC) to conduct a Post Graduate Program in Communications Management and Entrepreneurship (PGPCME).
