IIFT to hold its HR and Trade Conclaves

The HR Conclave will be centered on the theme Strategic People Policy for the emerging globalised economy and the Trade Conclave on Unleashing The Potential: New Farm Supply Chain Initiatives in Indian Agriculture. Top executives from companies like ITC, Coca-Cola, Fritolay, Bank of America, IBM and Britannia and Reliance Industries will be speaking at the Conclaves.

Understanding the need and importance of the changing role of HR, the national HR Conclave will discuss the issues related to the managing talent. According to IIFT, The role of the HR department -- previously conceived of more as an administrative function is being redefined and capacity building exercises for People Professionals have to be comprehensively and rapidly boosted. The day-long conclave will see discussions by the directors and HR consultants on topics like: Making M&As Work: Cross-cultural and People Issues in Organizational Integration, Managing Talent: Finding the Right Fit for the Organization, and People Challenges At the Cutting Edge.

IIFT says that the objective behind organizing Trade Conclave 2007 is to provide a comprehensive analysis of different aspects in the value chain of Indian agribusiness and new initiatives. According to IIFT, The Indian agribusiness sector offers a huge growth opportunity. Opportunities exist to create wealth along the entire chain from the farm gate to food plate. But the agri sector has failed to fully capitalize on its large production volume due to several factors. At this conclave, we will discuss these issues. This agriculture based Trade Conclave will do an overview of existing supply chain models in select sectors covering Fruits & vegetables, Foodgrains, Oilseeds and Oil; it will also discuss Agri Policy & Supply Chain Issues, newly emerging trends in the agricultural arena, benchmark Indian agri supply chain models against international initiatives.
