XLRIs Prof Raghuram represents Indian B-schools at UN Summit

The Global Compact Leaders Summit saw approximately 1,000 participants: top executives of companies, heads of international labor agencies, civil society agencies and United Nations agencies, government officials and representatives from select B-schools. At the summit, new studies by McKinsey & Co. and Goldman Sachs identified current mega trends in corporate responsibility.

Management education bodies like AACSB International, EFMD and international B-schools like China Europe International Business, ESADE, ESSEC, Thunderbird School of Global Management, and Indias very own XLRI Jamshedpur participated in the discussions.

Alongside the Summit, about 40 B-school representatives met to discuss Socially and Environmentally Responsible Business Education. Key speakers at this forum were: Mr. Gerard van Schaik, PresidentProfRaghuram was the only representative from Indian B-schools., European Foundation for Management Development; Mr. John Fernandes, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; and Mr. ngel Cabrera, President, Thunderbird School of Global Management.

In his short talk to the UN General Assembly, he introduced XLRI, its activities and the nature of education imparted by the institute.
