The forum is being jointly organized with World Trade University-Canada and China University of Petroleum. TMFES is a 17 days intensive program spanning two continents and three countries. The program will begin at IMI New Delhi from September 4 and end on September 7. The next sessions will be held in Canada and Beijing between September 17 and 27. Dr Sujit Chowdhury, President and CEO of World Trade University, Chilliwack, Canada; Prof Wang Ruihe, Vice President, China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, China; and Prof C S Venkata Ratnam, Director, IMI, New Delhi are the convenors of the event.
The program is designed to help industry professionals with a good understanding of current developments and future trends in the energy industry. It will address immediate and future challenges of energy issues in emerging economies like India and China.
The sessions in the forum will broadly explore policy, competition and regulations in the energy industry. The forum is targeted towards CEOs, senior management and middle managers of domestic energy companies, energy regulators, energy educators and local executives of foreign energy firms. The program will be led by Dr Sujit Chowdhury, President and CEO of World Trade University, Chilliwack, Canada; Prof Wang Ruihe, Vice President, China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, China; and Prof C S Venkata Ratnam, Director, IMI, New Delhi.
Commenting on the forums advantage, Dr CS Venkata Ratnam, director, IMI, Delhi said, The program will allow participants to develop insights into critical issues relevant to the country studied through localization of lecture content. It provides Indian and Chinese energy professionals with an opportunity to learn about possibilities and best practices in each others and Canadas energy industries.
The forum will begin in New Delhi; then it will move to Canada. In India it begins with four days of deliberations, which will include an introductory panel discussion on India and future Energy followed by sessions with a micro/enterprise focus covering energy regulations, Indian demand the global supply, WTO rules and the impact on energy and best practices in Indian energy. In Canada, where there will be a two-day trilateral colloquium, which will be supplemented by a 2 days visit in Canada. Here the session will discuss Maximizing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Resources in Canada and the US.
After Canada, the Forum will move to China which will be its final destination where participants will have two-day industrial site visits and further discussion on issues like Energy Policies in China, Conservation & Renewable Energy Policy, and Influence of policies &Trade on Energy Efficiency: regulations and key players.
