on the occasion of the release of the book WTO, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Branding on 29th May 2007 in New Delhi.The book was released by Prof B B Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
The three major aspects of the book are the Role of World Trade Organization (WTO), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Rights, and capital in terms of branding.
The book has been edited by Dr Chaturvedi and Dr Shri Prakash, Dean (Research) BIMTECH. Talking about the relevance of the book in the present context, Dr Chaturvedi said, The process of globalization has increased the size of the service economy as well as the knowledge economy. The rich countries are rich because they invest heavily on Research and Development. So today, we need knowledge economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Bhattacharya highlighted the need for Indian entrepreneurs to emerge as product leaders. He said, India is lacking product leaders because of two reasons: viz. capital, as patents require huge amounts of it; and the risk-taking ability.
Emphasizing the fact that intellectual benefit leads to knowledge benefit, Mrs. Sushma Berlia, president, EPSI, said in her keynote address, The universities and industries need to take a lead and protect intellectual property and intellectual capital.
Chairperson at the occasion, Dr. Anupam Varma, Deputy Director, BIMTECH, shared his observations about the book and highlighted the fact that it explores conceptual and theoretical paradigms. He also talked about the pressing need to check piracy.

There is a need to convert the brick and mortar economy to a knowledge economy, said Dr H Chaturvedi, Director Birla Institute of Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida,
