379 students awarded degrees at IIM-Bangalore convocation

The title of Fellow of IIM-B was conferred on 8 students, the Postgraduate Diploma in Management were handed out to 234 students, the Postgraduate Diploma in Software Enterprise Management to 104 students and the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management to 33 students.

Speaking on the occasion, IIM-B director Dr PG Apte said, On behalf of the entire IIM-B community, I congratulate each one of you on your achievements. He made a special mention of meritorious students who have emerged on top on basis of their outstanding performance: Anushree Kiran Laturkar, Kirankumar AS and Amit Gupta from PGP, Srikant Belwadi and Shailendra Narhar Marathe from PGSEM and Ravindran DS from PGPPM were among those named by the director.

To recognize the role of alumni in building the IIM brand, IIM-B has also instituted an alumi award, which was conferred for the first time in the convocation ceremony.The first IIM Bangalore Distinguished Alumnus Awards were awarded to Mr Ashok Sinha from the batch of 1975-1977 and Dr Vasanttilak Naik from the Batch of 1981-1983.

At the convocation, a community service award, instituted by IIM-B faculty Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, was given three students: Neelesh Salgaonkar of PGSEM, and Arun Negiand Ajit Phadnisof PGP.
