Man of Steel LN Mittal to speak at IMT Convocation

It will be something well watching out for as none other than president and CEO of Arcelor Mittal Lakshmi N Mittal one of the most admired business tycoons in the world -- will preside over the function: he will deliver the convocation address and award the degrees to students. President of IMTs board of governors and Union Minister for Commerce and Industries, Mr. Kamal Nath will also address the convocation. The ceremony will also recognize the distinguished alumnus of IMT.

Born in Sadulpur in Rajasthan, on June 15, 1950, Lakshmi N Mittal founded Mittal Steel Company (formerly the LNM Group) in 1976. Following the creation of Arcelor Mittal the worlds largest steel company last year, Mr. Mittal was pronounced Business Person of 2006 by The Sunday Times, International Newsmaker of the Year 2006 by Time magazine and Person of the Year 2006 by Financial Times for his outstanding business achievements.

Naturally, Mr Mittals business advice is globally sought after. He is a member of many trade bodies: the Foreign Investment Council in Kazakhstan, the International Investment Council in South Africa and the World Economic Forums International Business Council. He is also a director of ICICI Bank Limited and sits on the Advisory Board at Kellogg School of Management, and on the International Advisory Board at Citigroup.
