Bharti Scholarships for XLRI students

According to information shared by XLRI with MBAUniverse.com, Abhishek MallandSandeep Agarwal from XLRI have received the scholarships.

Bharti Foundation has initiated Bharti Scholarship Programme in 30 institutions across India. The scholarships are meant for academically bright students, who are keen on pursuing higher education (in management, engineering and agriculture) but have limited financial resources for the same. As part of this scholarship scheme, two scholars from each institute are selected on merit-cum-means basis.

Corporate Social Responsibility has emerged as one of the key pillars of corporate strategy and Bharti Airtels initiatives in this regard are truly commendable. Education is a great enabler and initiatives like these are bound to foster an appetite for knowledge and management experience amongst budding professionals, said Fr Casimir Raj, director, XLRI.

Established in 2000, Bharti Foundation wishes to realize its vision by creating and supporting programs that bring about sustainable changes, predominantly in the field of education. It has set itself the goals of improving the quality of primary education for disadvantaged children and to ensure education and training opportunities for youth to help them achieve their potential. Bharti Foundation was awarded the coveted Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the year 2006 in the NGO category.

XLRI was set up in 1949 in the steel city of Jamshedpur, Bihar, and has contributed to the professional growth and management of innumerable institutions that serve the public, especially organized industry, labor, service agencies engaged in rural development, education, health and other public systems.
