A FLAME press release says, FLAME welcomes an illustrious and renowned academic Professor PM Shingi as Dean, FLAME School of Business and the FLAME School of Liberal Education. Prof Shingi will join FLAME from March 2007. Prof Shingi -- PhD holder from the University of Illinois -- was engaged in teaching and research for more than three decades at IIM-A; he was also the Dean there for some time.
Prof Shingi has completed more than 40 management consulting assignments on policy and program related aspects for the Government of India, USAID, Ford Foundation, OXFAM, United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, the World Bank and many others. He has also published several books, research monographs, consultancy monographs, and research articles for national and international journals.
FLAME was established as a not-for-profit organization in 2004 with an objective to create and build an institution of higher learning grounded in Indian values. Its president Prof. Indira Parikh was earlier the Dean IIM-A. Shri Parag Shah is the founder chairman of FLAME.
This B-school offers both undergraduate degree programs (BBA) as well as graduate degree programs (MBA). While the undergraduate degree is offered in collaboration with the Academy of Liberal Education, the graduate MBA degree program -- a two-year, full time residential program -- is offered exclusively by the School of Business.
In terms of pedagogy, FLAME School of Business stresses on the Case Study Method. It says it offers a, A holistic and integrated learning approach where the student makes choices of learning and growth like participative learning emphasizing the case method where the student is encouraged to interact and dialogue with each other and faculty.

Noted academician Professor PM Shingi of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will join Pune-based B-school Foundation for Liberal And Management Education (FLAME), as Dean from March 2007.
