Coming soon: AACSBs conference on best practices in management education

Judy Olian, Dean and John E. Anderson Chair of Management, Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles, will be the chairperson at the conference.

The event will be structured along four panel discussions: Asia Management Education and Economic Development; Collaboration from a Business Perspective; AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) Accreditation; and Thought Leadership and Research Collaboration Best Practices and Challenges.

This is what the events promotional material has to say: Asias roaring entry into the management education landscape has instigated a set of challenges and a sense for transnational collaborations. Asias leaders have built their successes on long-standing traditions and invented innovative institutions to support dynamic economies. This conference will help you respond to these issues by teaching you how to effectively foster individual and institutional networks, build strategic partnerships, and achieve collaborative alliances with other business schools.

The aim behind the event is to discover global and regional trends and issues in business and management programs, as well as implications for strategic management at your institution, review successful models for international strategic alliances and understand the process for evaluating and selecting potential partners. It will also be organized to share best practices in faculty management and development, student recruitment, and curricula identified through accreditation reviews worldwide, and to learn about recent advances in accreditation standards, pre-accreditation processes, and benefits of accreditation, says AACSB.

The target audience for the conference will be deans, department chairs, academic directors, program directors, international relations directors and key faculty members from business schools.

AACSB, founded in 1916, is regarded as the worlds most prestigious accreditor of B-schools, having granted specialized business school accreditation to more than 500 degree-granting institutions in 30 countries. The body was formerly known as the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business.
