No. GMAC, the global body that conducts the NMAT exam, does not release a previous year NMAT question paper, and there is no single NMAT last year paper released. NMAT is a computer-adaptive exam: questions are picked one at a time from a large pool of thousands of questions, so different candidates get different questions. Past NMAT questions are available from only two official sources:
- NMAT Official Guide: it marks the past NMAT questions as real NMAT question that have appeared in past NMAT exams.
- GMAC's Official Practice Exams: full-length tests of past NMAT questions on mba.com. Practice Exam 1 is free (see details below).
So the closest you can get to an NMAT previous year question paper is a set of some past questions, which this page gives you. For full-length practice on the same pattern, take the five free NMAT mock tests on MBAUniverse.com.
Here is everything this NMAT previous year question paper page gives you, free:
- 6 solved NMAT PYQs: 2 from each section, with answers and explanations.
- 3 section-wise NMAT PYQ PDFs: 10 more questions for each section, with solutions.
- 1 combined NMAT PYQ PDF: all 30 previous year questions with solutions in one file.
- NMAT PYQ Practice Test online: 30 questions, 10 per section, at NMAT pace.
- Next steps: links to five free full-length NMAT mock tests and GMAC's free official practice exam.
All NMAT question papers follow the same NMAT paper pattern: 108 questions in 120 minutes, in three individually timed sections. Each section is scored from 12 to 120 (total 36 to 360), there is no negative marking, and you choose the order of sections at the start. Check the NMAT exam pattern and NMAT 2026 syllabus for details.
NMAT Language Skills tests reading, grammar and vocabulary: reading comprehension, para forming, error identification, prepositions, sentence completion and analogies. Here are two NMAT previous year questions from this section.
Q: 1 Identification
Directions: Choose the part of the sentence that contains an error. If the sentence has no error, choose (E).
Question: After his years of dedicated service to the country, the politician and statesman were honoured at a public felicitation ceremony.
(A) his years (B) service to (C) and statesman (D) were honoured (E) No error
Answer and Explanation: (D). "The politician and statesman" has only one "the", so it refers to one person who is both a politician and a statesman. A singular subject needs a singular verb: "was honoured", not "were honoured".
Q 2: Prepositions
Directions: Choose the set of prepositions whose meaning and sequence best fit the three given sentences.
Question: 1. The formation of a star is accompanied ______ the release of gas and dust.
2. Albert Einstein is often regarded ______ the father of modern physics.
3. A rainbow is a beautiful display ______ vibrant colours.
(a) as (b) by (c) of (d) from (e) among (f) through
(A) aed (B) dfb (C) bcd (D) bac (E) edf
Answer and Explanation: (D). The correct phrases are "accompanied by" (b), "regarded as" (a) and "display of" (c), which gives the sequence bac.

NMAT Quantitative Skills covers number properties, arithmetic, algebra and probability, data interpretation and data sufficiency, with no on-screen calculator. Here are two questions from NMAT previous year papers in this section.
Q 1: Time and Work
Question: FDB Builders was awarded the contract to construct a bridge. The company employed 100 workers to finish the work in 120 days. When four-fifths of the work was completed in 80 days, the company wanted to reduce the number of workers. How many workers can be let go without affecting the completion schedule of the construction of the bridge?
(A) 25 (B) 40 (C) 50 (D) 65 (E) 75
Answer and Explanation: (C). Four-fifths of the work took 100 × 80 = 8,000 worker-days, so the remaining one-fifth needs 2,000 worker-days. It must be done in the remaining 40 days, which needs 2,000 ÷ 40 = 50 workers. So 100 − 50 = 50 workers can be let go.

Q 2: Permutations
Question: How many arrangements of the word ABOVE are possible such that O is always in the middle?
(A) 4 (B) 8 (C) 12 (D) 24 (E) 48
Answer and Explanation: (D). With O fixed in the third (middle) place, the other four letters A, B, V and E can be arranged in the remaining four places in 4! = 24 ways.

NMAT Logical Reasoning covers critical reasoning, deductions, analytical puzzles and other reasoning. Here are two questions from NMAT previous year papers in this section.
Q 1: Critical Reasoning
Question: The University has increased the pace of work for getting the NAAC accreditation, which is a must to attract students from all over the country. It has decided to get the accreditation in the next six months. All the requirements for getting A+ grading must be fulfilled.
Which of the following statements weakens the decision of the University?
(A) A committee has been set up to prepare the Self Study Report of the University in 2 months.
(B) The required infrastructure will be built up by the contractor in the next 2 years in a phased manner.
(C) The University Academic Council has done a detailed study of the requirements for NAAC accreditation.
(D) The Board of Management will review the Self Study Report after 2 months for necessary corrective actions.
(E) The recruitment of the required minimum number of faculty members will also be done before the inspection of the NAAC team.
Answer and Explanation: (B). The University plans to meet all A+ requirements within six months. If the required infrastructure will take two years to build, that target cannot be met, which weakens the decision. Options (A), (C), (D) and (E) all support the plan.

Q 2: Alphanumeric Series
Question: In the series given below, which is the 5th element to the left of the 10th element to the right of the 4th element from the left?
A B 4 6 ^ & D K L * @ B H D 1 9 8 7 & % + A + V + W & X 1 2 3 * &
(A) A (B) D (C) 8 (D) L (E) &
Answer and Explanation: (D). The 4th element from the left is 6 (position 4). The 10th element to its right is at position 14, which is D. The 5th element to the left of position 14 is at position 9, which is L.
