Question: Six family members Pankaj, Gopi, Chetan, Dinesh, Akash and Vyom are standing around a circular table. Gopi is between Vyom and Chetan. Pankaj is between Akash and Dinesh. Vyom is to the immediate left of Dinesh. Who is exactly opposite Dinesh?
Options: (1) Vyom (2) Gopi (3) Pankaj (4) Chetan (5) Akash
Answer: (4) Chetan
Solution: Dinesh has Vyom on one side and Pankaj on the other. Gopi sits next to Vyom, then Chetan, then Akash, who is next to Pankaj. Going round the table: Pankaj, Dinesh, Vyom, Gopi, Chetan, Akash. In a circle of six, the person three seats away from Dinesh is Chetan.
3. Abstract Reasoning: Counting Triangles
Question: Find the number of triangles in the given figure. (The figure is a five-pointed star drawn with five straight lines.)
Options: (1) 8 (2) 11 (3) 9 (4) 10 (5) 12
Answer: (4) 10
Solution: Count in two groups. Each of the 5 points of the star is a small triangle. Each of the 5 straight lines is also the base of one larger triangle, whose third corner is where the two lines from its ends cross. That gives 5 + 5 = 10.
4. Abstract Reasoning: Dice
Question: Two views of the same die are shown. In the first, 1 is on top, 3 is in front and 2 is on the right; in the second, 1 is on top, 5 is in front and 6 is on the right. Which number will be on top when 4 is at the bottom? (The figure is described here in words.)
Options: (1) 5 (2) 3 (3) 6 (4) 1 (5) 2
Answer: (4) 1
Solution: Both views show 1 on top, with 3, 2, 5 and 6 around it, so all four of those faces touch 1. The only face left, 4, must be opposite 1. When 4 is at the bottom, 1 is on top.
5. Quantitative Aptitude: Percentages
Question: In a town of 2,000 people, 60% are males. Out of the males, 40% are literate. If 55% of the total population is literate, what percentage of females is literate?
Options: (1) 67.5% (2) 72.5% (3) 70.5% (4) 77.5% (5) 80.5%
Answer: (4) 77.5%
Solution: There are 1,200 males, so 480 literate males. Literate people number 55% of 2,000, or 1,100, so 620 are literate females. There are 800 females, and 620 ÷ 800 = 77.5%.
6. Quantitative Aptitude: Trains
Question: A train 150 m long is running at 54 km/h. It crosses a bridge in 20 seconds. Find the length of the bridge.
Options: (1) 250 m (2) 340 m (3) 150 m (4) 190 m (5) 140 m
Answer: (3) 150 m
Solution: 54 km/h × 5/18 = 15 m/s, so in 20 seconds the train covers 300 m. That distance is the train's own length plus the bridge, so the bridge is 300 − 150 = 150 m.
7. Verbal Ability: Grammar
Question: Choose the correct sentence: A. He gained an valuable information during the seminar. B. He gained the valuable information during seminar. C. He gained valuable information during the seminar. D. He gained a valuable information during the seminar. E. He gained valuable informations during the seminar.
Options: A / B / C / D / E
Answer: C
Solution: "Information" is an uncountable noun, so it takes no "a" or "an" and has no plural, while "the seminar" needs its article. Only sentence C gets both right.
8. Verbal Ability: Vocabulary
Question: Choose the closest synonym of the word: Ephemeral. A. Permanent B. Lasting C. Short-lived D. Eternal E. Bountiful

Answer: C (Short-lived)
Solution: "Ephemeral" means lasting a very short time. Permanent, lasting and eternal mean the opposite, and bountiful (plentiful) is unrelated.
