Is IMI Kolkata Tier 1 or Tier 2?

IMI Kolkata is a Tier 2 or Top-end Tier 3 business school in India. IMI is a respectable, growing institution with good placements, but it does not fall into the top-tier (Tier 1) category of MBA colleges which includes IIMs, XLRI, MDI, SPJIMR or similar colleges. In NIRF 2025 Management Rankings, IMI Kolkata secured 42 rank among the top 125 management institutes in India.
