Generic : What is the difference between CAT test city and exam centre?

The CAT test city is the location selected by the candidate during registration, while the exam centre is the exact venue allotted within that city. Candidates choose preferred cities, but the final centre is assigned by the exam authority and is mentioned in the admit card.
