JAGSoM Admissions 2026: 35% Application Growth
Description

‘Changing student preference behind JAGSoM’s Growth’

The increase in applications at JAGSoM comes at a time when prospective management students are becoming more deliberate about how they evaluate a business school. According to JAGSoM, the increase in applications reflects a student preference for B-schools that help connect academic learning with evolving industry realities.

“During JAGSoM Admission 2026, the growth in applications and admissions is encouraging. More importantly, it reflects a change in what students’ value. They are looking beyond legacy brand names and evaluating the learning experience, pedagogy, industry exposure and professional outcomes offered by an institution,” said Dr Sridevi, Director, JAGSoM.

“Students today are asking more informed questions. They want to understand how a programme will help them develop domain expertise and the ability to perform in a rapidly changing workplace,” added Dr Sridevi.

JAGSoM’s Transparent Placement Report is one of the standout factor to build trust in the school to deliver what it promises for students. A few month back, JAGSoM released its Placement 2026 Report that gave a candid picture to prospective students about the actual placement data and insights, rather than painting a rosy picture. “We believe that informed students make better decisions and better students. JAGSoM is committed to presenting placement outcomes honestly, without inflating numbers or creating unrealistic expectations,” said JAGSoM.

JAGSoM Embarks on Unique Industry Immersion

Soon after the students have joined the institute, JAGSoM has embarked on a unique induction program that involves deep industry immersion that includes Sectoral talks, Industry visits and more engagements.

“Our induction follows a three-pronged approach. Sectoral talks by industry leaders from organisations such as Razorpay, Flipkart and Amazon help students understand changing business realities and workplace expectations. Industry visits to organisations such as IKEA, Microsoft and TVS allow them to observe operations, systems and decision-making in practice,” said Prof Suman, Director of Center for Continuous Learning and Employability, JAGSoM.

JAGSoM Team-based Challenges is another important dimension of its pedagogical approach. “An important component of JAGSoM program involves team-based challenges where pressure, uncertainty and group behaviour become visible. Students begin to understand how they communicate, make decisions, handle conflict, support others and respond when situations do not go as planned,” said Dr. M. Sivagnanasundaram, Dean.

JAGSoM has also conducted an independently developed psychometric evaluation for its incoming cohort of students as part of JAGSoM Admission 2026 initiative. The assessment helps students understand their natural learning styles, professional development areas and potential role fitment.

Established in 1995, JAGSoM has been on a transformational journey in the last fifteen years. The current interventions establish a foundation for a diverse set of students from 25 different states, while allowing each student to identify the specific capabilities they need to develop during the programme.
