NMAT

NMAT differs from CAT and XAT in that it has no negative marking, allows multiple attempts, and follows an adaptive format. It also provides flexibility in choosing section order, unlike CAT.

The Quantitative Skills section in NMAT includes questions from arithmetic, algebra, modern math, and data interpretation. The section typically has 36 questions and a time limit of 52 minutes.

There is no negative marking in NMAT 2026. Candidates are not penalized for incorrect or unattempted questions, which encourages attempting all questions.

The NMAT 2026 exam duration is 120 minutes. Each section has a fixed time limit—28 minutes for Language Skills, 52 minutes for Quantitative Skills, and 40 minutes for Logical Reasoning.

NMAT uses a scaled scoring system. Each section is scored on a scale of 12–120, and the total score ranges from 36–360. Since NMAT is an adaptive exam, scores are calculated based on the difficulty level of questions answered correctly, and are not simple per-question marks.

The NMAT 2026 exam pattern consists of 108 questions divided into three sections—Language Skills, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Skills. The total duration is 120 minutes with sectional time limits and no negative marking.
