NMAT

The NMAT 2026 application form is filled online on mba.com/exams/nmat. After creating an account and logging in to the NMAT Dashboard, candidates must enter personal details, contact address, educational qualifications, work experience and college preferences (upto 5 free of cost). Candidates should accept the declaration form, schedule your exam (Test Centre or Online Proctored at Home), and pay the fee to confirm.

NMAT (NMAT by GMAC) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) — the same body that conducts the GMAT exam globally. NMAT scores are accepted by 50+ B-schools in India, including NMIMS Mumbai, K J Somaiya, TAPMI, XIM University, and SDA Bocconi Mumbai.

NMAT 2026 candidates can take the exam up to three times (one first attempt and two retakes) within the same testing cycle. A minimum 15-day gap is mandatory between two valid attempts. NMIMS Mumbai, however, considers only the first-attempt score for admissions, so plan accordingly.

NMAT 2026 registration is expected to start on August 1, 2026 and close on October 18, 2026 (based on NMAT 2025's extended deadline). Registration happens online at mba.com/exams/nmat. Candidates should register early, as preferred test centre slots in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Based on NMAT 2024 and 2025 patterns, approximately 70–75% of Indian candidates choose Test Centre mode for its distraction-free environment and lower technical risk, while 25–30% opt for Online Proctored at Home mostly those in Tier-3 cities without nearby centres or working professionals seeking schedule flexibility.

Test Centre mode is better for most Indian candidates who want a distraction-free environment and live near one of 70+ NMAT centres. Online Proctored at Home mode works best for candidates in cities without NMAT centres, international candidates, or tech-comfortable aspirants with reliable high-speed internet and a private quiet room.
